Benches,
picnic tables
and lighting

The 2004 Landscape Renewal Plan also recommended renewal of park furnishings. The process has begun of providing new metal benches and picnic tables to replace wooden ones.
A lighting plan has also been developed, in more detail and with a different layout than was tentatively designed in the Landscape Renewal Plan. The current plan is to remove the existing lights from the park (except the rink floodlights in winter) and install lampposts to light the paths. Installation of lampposts require digging deeper than benches and picnic tables, and this process, like planting trees, is also affected by the need to ensure that the former cemetery is disturbed as little as possible.
